In Which Things Change
Tiffany May 19, 2020 Blogging (11) Comments

It seems like when life throws you a curb ball and you almost catch it, then life throws you another. I feel like this is a lot like how this pandemic feels right now. It’s kind of crazy how everything is starting to reopen again, well at least it is in Florida. Especially with the number of deaths averaging to about 50 a day, and that is only what they are reporting its nuts.

The women who designed the site for Florida’s reporting on Covid-19 has been removed from her job because she wouldn’t change the numbers to support Florida’s reopening. Article Here. Already people are lined up to go salons, nail salons, and barbers shops. So, it feels like there is a lot of the information that we and especially Floridians are getting right now that can’t be trusted. Especially when we have the experts telling us differently than the state officials with an agenda.

So, online shopping lol. I got a fanny pack, an extension strap for that fanny pack, a new wallet (my old one had a hole, and the zipper was falling apart), 3 sports bras, biker shorts, and a drawing tablet. I’m very excited about these purchases also. First of all I needed new bras and tried to get these at Walmart but they sucked, so I got them online, and I should have gone online in the first place. I’ve just been wanting a fanny pack, and now I got one. I don’t have to worry about not having pockets, so that is great. The new wallet is self-explanatory. The new pair of biker shorts is to replace my old one that is currently stretched out and has holes. Which isn’t surprising since I’ve had them since I was in the Navy. Then my drawing tablet, this was a crazy purchase for me because I have never used one before, I would do my art is the laptop trackpad. So, the learning curve on this is major, and I have to use a different art program with it, but I am determined.

With everything, I was out of a job, and to be completely honest in the current crisis I did not want to find another retail job considering the risk. My neighbor had also had to stay home because of her kids, so she wanted to go back to her job and asked if I wanted a job babysitting them, and so that is what I am doing now. It has the added benefits of my home being across the street, and it not being retail so. 🙂

That’s really all I have because I am tried. lol.

That’s the perfect situation looking after your neighbours kids, that worked out so well for you! People are doing the same here in England, going out and gathering in places we’re not supposed to be and demanding the restrictions be lifted. It’s so infuriating to see, it’s way too soon here x

So many places seem to be opening up too early. I don’t think we’ve had even 50 cases in the past two weeks, then again we only have a population of 940,600 compared to Florida’s 21.48 million. Not sure the percentages there, my math sucks. It’s still scary though. I’ve done a lot of online shopping lately, a lot more then normal. Including signing up for an Ipsy subscription, clothes from Old Navy and tons of stuff on Amazon and a couple more domain names lol. I am glad to hear that you though you were out of a job that you got the oppertunity to babysit your neighbours kids. So many people are out of jobs, not sure what the compensation from the government is like there for loss of job from COVID-19 if any but here there is compensation but it’s barely enough for most people.

Oh man, COVID is really taking people when states are opening up. It is kind of annoying but we need to do whatever’s needed to be safe. I love online shopping! Hopefully things will start to calm down for real soon.

It’s nice you can help our your neighbour and babysit, how kind of you! 🙂 Have fun with the new things you bought too!

Here we are slowly reopening – schools are back which is nice although we are still working from home.

Hope you are having a great weekend 🙂 We aren’t doing much, staying home and staying warm with that cold winter weather that’s here!

I am 110% in agreement that things are moving WAY too fast to reopen in many areas. Even as stores are opening around here now (retail stores that aren’t in a mall are part of phase one reopening in Ontario), my husband and I are both sticking to online shopping as much as possible. It just makes me feel safer! I can’t imagine jumping back into our normal routine quite yet without being worried.

I’m happy you were able to get yourself some new things! I was scared I’d buy us out of a house during quarantine but it hasn’t been tooooo crazy.

The babysitting gig sounds perfect! I’m grateful essential stores have remained open but I can’t imagine what it’s been like for them.

California is beginning to open up a little, too.

Can’t wait until summer starts because homeschooling has been crazy to say the least.

Here in New Jersey everyone awating for things to repopen. As a hairstylist and makeup artist, I am deadly afraid to start servicing new clients that I do not know. I have my own little business on the side. I understand everyone is going nuts and wants to reopen everything but we gotta be careful that it doesn’t cause a wave of everyone getting sick again. Just for us to be re locked down again and probably longer this time.
