and how we can make it positive
There is so much that I like about the body positivity movement because it helps women celebrate their bodies without having to change them into societies version of what is beautiful. However, it isn’t as positive as it pretends to be.
Every time you hear someone talk about feminism or equality in any form then you hear someone normally a white guy mention misandry, and it’s always someone who doesn’t know what being a woman, racial issues, or what intersectional feminism actually means, and they always hate women and POC. In theory, misandry means the hate of men, but yet in the real world, it doesn’t exist. This is why.
These are two things that I’ve talked about before while I never addressed call-out culture by name I have talked about it. Mostly by doing it, and racist family. I live in the south so a lot of my family is racist and I mean that they are on purpose, they choose to be and they enjoy it. Even if they don’t see it as racism, it obviously is to anyone with a brain. Call-out culture aligns a lot with how I and a few family members (and friends who allow racism/sexism/etc on their post) deal with these family members which is why I linked them together in this blog post. Also, to be clear these family members are also sexist, red pill, trump fangirls/boys, hate women (even if they are one), hates anything not traditional, anti-trans, anti-environment, and while they claim to be pro-troops they hate them if they challenge their core beliefs.
In a time of so much destruction and chaos and the war against women and people who are oppressed we have another battle. The battles are never-ending, and they are trying because you can’t allow the people who hate and hurt you to win. You hear other ask why do you fight so much, and why do you try? No one will do it for us, especially with people who are sided with such a violent force who want to hurt us, we can’t stop or they will win.
