I feel like it is not talked about enough about how many people are out there who lost their names and are only unknown as Does, even recently people are found with no name attached. It’s so incredibly heartbreaking and sad. These are humans who deserve to have their name back and to have acknowledgement. I’ve said it before but I am so strong and charged about how important I think it is for John and Jane Does to get their identify back.
There are too many John and Jane Doe cases out there, and so many of them have so little information. It really is heartbreaking because they were human and shouldn’t have to be buried in a grave without their names, being unknown to the world. I am really passionate about John and Jane Does getting their identities back, I think it is important.
It’s fascinating how close we are to death and killers daily, and we never know until later if we find out at all. How close do we come to death on a regular bases? Who knows, especially when it is sometimes easier to see if someone is fucked up online and not in real life. I think those people probably hold their masks tighter in public but don’t worry about a slipping online.
Sadly, we don’t always get the answers in life that we want, and sometimes we don’t get any answers at all. That is life for the loved ones of people who went missing. This is their reality, they live through it daily hoping. That is why I think it is important to talk about, these families and friends deserve to know where their loved ones are at. I always hope that someone reading has the answers, and maybe they just don’t know that they are the missing piece to this.
There is always so haunting about someone whose identity is lost to the world, someone who is in a grave with no name and only known as John or Jane Doe. I wonder if anyone reported them missing or if anyone cares. In some cases, especially before the 90s, when someone was reported as a runaway, no one cared to look, family or law enforcement. In other cases, they were reported, but nothing was found because of how law enforcement operated. As someone who is critical of police, this is not meant to be critical of them since there was no national database, agencies didn’t work together, and because of DNA and forensic and modern advances, things have gotten better in that regard. Luckily, times have changed, but sadly people have not, and so many people need their names back.
